By Christian Fa’avae

Introduction:
This writing will give you important  information about Giant Weta in New Zealand.Gaint Weta have lived in the world for more than 190 million years. They are one of the oldest animals in New Zealand.

Physical Features:
They look a little bit like a grasshopper. They have a hard exoskeleton and they are called minibeasts or invertebrates.I think they live longer than the tuatara.
Diet:
The wetas eat  gorse flowers and other insects and invertebrates that are smaller that themselves.
Habitat:
Most of the giant weta live in the Mahoenui Reserve. In this place the giant weta was safer from their other destroyed habitats.
Pretadors:
The Wetas’ main predator are rats because the wetas spiky legs can’t defend the Weta very well from the rats.
Main Threats:
The main threats for the Weta are fires that destroy their habitats.
Behaviours:
The Giant Weta is placid. That means that the giant weta is kind and gentle and other types of Wetas are aggressive.

Conclusion:
Did you know that the weta has lived for over 190 million years?  I think the Weta is one of the oldest insects in New Zealand.
